At The Batt School, writing skills are developed through a high-quality text based approach through which pupils develop an understanding of writing for a purpose. Children are encouraged to take ownership of their writing, to plan for maximum impact and to take responsibility for editing, ensuring the accuracy of their spelling, punctuation and grammar.

Exploration - Children will explore a range of literature and bring their own interpretations and ideas.

Co-operation - Children will know how to exchange information together and take accountability for their own learning and be motivated to increase the learning of others.

Communication - Children will express their creative ideas through a range of genre, debate and drama opportunities.

Innovation - Children will learn to be innovative through stimulating deeper, collective and reflective thinking.

“My time at the Batt was great, we had the best teachers and I learnt lots to become more confident and believe in myself . The residential trip helped me to be independent and was so much fun. I always liked going to pantomime each year too. PE was my favourite subject, we had so many opportunities to play all different kind of sports, I was apart of the school teams and we won many Oxfordshire schools cups! I have lots of memories to treasure from my primary school days.”
