Our Teacher - Mrs Adair

20220115 155421It is a great privilege for me to be working at the Batt. I have always wanted to be a teacher since I was a child. I love working with children,  helping them to challenge themselves and recognise their own potential. I have had the pleasure of teaching every Year group during my career in Oxfordshire and also in Barcelona. I currently lead on History.

I thrive on working in a team and have phase led, run a number of residential trips, several school initiatives from International Links awards and leading the first school in Oxford shire to receive the Unicef Rights Respecting Award. I aim to inspire and incorporate the creative, investigative and active components into my teaching.

I am a keen open water swimmer . I love to explore different cultures and experience new places. I like to be outside and spend quality time with my young daughter and friends.

Our Teacher - Mrs McGuire

I originally trained and worked as an Occupational Therapist, but once my own children started school I began working in schools; first as a parent helper, then as an unqualified teacher of secondary aged children, before training for my PCGE at Westminster College.

This year I have been teaching at theThe Batt School for 20 years. I did my final PGCE placement here and have been here ever since. I began at The Batt School in Year 3 and have remained in the Juniors teaching Years 3,4,5 and 6, although I would just as happily teach infants. I'm now a grandmother and am immensely enjoying looking after my granddaughter two days a week. I've been the RE lead here since I qualified. I love teaching and watching the children learn and succeed.

In my free time, I enjoy time with my family and friends, reading, going to conferences, visiting new places and dining out, walking, cycling, gardening and swimming.

Our Teacher - Miss Gray

I studied Primary Education at the University of Winchester where I particularly enjoyed learning about childhood development and different learning styles. My teaching career began at Harriers Banbury Academy and then I travelled to Africa and taught at an International School in Mwanza, Tanzania. I had a fantastic experience teaching children from a variety of cultures and developing my teaching practice. I am delighted to have accepted a role at The Batt and look forward to getting stuck into the school's community.
