It is a pleasure to welcome you to The Batt Church of England Primary School. We are a school for children aged 4 to 11, working closely in partnership with St Mary’s CE Infant School and as part of the Oxford Diocesan Schools Trust.

Our Christian vision, ‘Love everyone, Love the adventure of learning’, underpins our approach to education, alongside our values of friendship, respect and perseverance. We aim to provide a safe, inclusive and purposeful environment where children are well-supported and able to make the most of their time at primary school.

We have high expectations for every child and are committed to ensuring that pupils develop the knowledge, skills and understanding they need to achieve well. Our curriculum is broad and ambitious to build learning over time, encouraging children to think deeply, apply their knowledge and persevere when they find things challenging.

We place a strong emphasis on reading, writing and mathematics, alongside a wide range of subjects and experiences that help children develop their interests and understanding of the wider world. Pupils work hard and achieve well.

Alongside academic achievement, we recognise the importance of developing confident, responsible and respectful young people. We want children to develop good relationships and to contribute positively to their school and wider community.

We work closely with parents and carers, recognising the important role that families play in supporting children’s education and development. Our aim is for every child to leave The Batt with a strong foundation of knowledge and skills, a positive attitude towards learning and the confidence to take on their next steps successfully.

The Batt Church of England Primary School and St Mary’s CE Infant School work closely together. Reception and Year 1 classes from both schools are based at the St Mary’s site on Church Green, while children from Year 2 onwards are educated at The Batt site.
