Girls' Football League v Ducklington

Girls' Football League V Ducklington 1st March

After their initial draw in the opening match, The Batt again had a home advantage for their second league match versus Ducklington School.

The opening seconds of the match signalled The Batt’s intent as Immie closed down the kick off to win the ball, round the defenders, and get a shot off which just went wide. However, it was barely a minute later and The Batt opened their account when Olivia finished from close range to take a 1-0 lead. She followed up with a second, minutes later, with a crisp strike into the corner. Immie then followed up with two goals before both girls completed their hat tricks just before half time in an emphatic display of goal scoring.

A few substitutions at half time saw The Batt change shape in the second half and it was Ducklington who struck first in the second half, nevertheless normal service was resumed when Katie, who saw the goalkeeper save many of her efforts in the first half, put her name on the score sheet, with a great effort, that sailed into the top corner. Her dominance on the ball paid dividends as she became the third player in the match to complete her hat trick with two more well taken goals to finish the game with a huge 9-1 score line.

Congratulations to all the girls for producing such a fine display of football and they now look forward to an away day at Madley Brook next.
