Class 4D

Welcome to 4D!

Despite an unusual year, we cannot wait to begin exploring different topics and learning new things!

In 4D we enjoy learning! We love to challenge ourselves and understand that in order to succeed it is important to persevere and try our best. Nothing is impossible!

In the mornings, we will be developing our English and Mathematic skills. In English, we will be looking at David Walliams stories, poems and reports. As well as learning about grammar, punctuation, spelling and reading. In Maths we will be deepening our understanding of place value and exploring addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

In our topic this term, we will be practicing our history and geography key skills and learning about the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings. We will have the opportunity to create imaginative pieces of writing as well as works or art and more!

In science we will be investigating electricity. 4D will have the opportunity to consider how electricity has helped us, how it is transported and how it is made.

In PE, the focus for the first term will be improving our fitness. We will do this through circuit activities and through social distanced games.

I am in the process of setting up a Seesaw page for our class this year. At least for the first term, this is how homework will be sent. It may also be possible to add parents to our Seesaw page so you can have an insight into the fantastic learning we are doing at school.

For a more in-depth view of what we will be learning this term please refer to our curriculum map which has been sent home and is also on our website under ‘Curriculum’.

Despite the unusual circumstances, if you have any questions or queries please do not hesitate to ask me. I am usually on the playground at the end of the day.

The 4D team: Miss Doughton, Mrs Tew, Mrs Fletcher and Mrs Collins.
